March 5: Effective Communication and the IEP
A presenter from the Federation for Children with Special Needs will conduct this workshop.
This workshop addresses the communication skills needed by parents participating as members of the IEP Team.  The presentation includes communication skill building techniques to help parents engage effectively in the IEP process through clear concise communication.  Participants will learn about pitfalls to avoid and applying best practice strategies to resolve conflict when it occurs.
Last year:

Basic rights workshop, finding resources, bully prevention curriculum, personal safety for our special needs kids from the Marlborough PD, special education programming in Marlborough, extended school year, financial advice from a social worker from Marlborough hospital.
As an organization we have also presented to the school committee to discuss what we do and we have created and distributed a survey for SPED parents.
