Marlborough's Post-Graduate Program serves students with disabilities ages 18-22 who are entitled to receive special education services. The program's focus is on work skills and the teaching of life skills and social skills necessary to transition to adult life. Job coaches provide support on the job.

Students have the opportunity to participate in the following groups: Healthy Life Style, Book Club, Consumer Education, Social Skills, Career Education and Current Events.

The students also participate in volunteer opportunities as well as paid employment when possible, both paired with authentic / functional instruction.

The Post-Grad Program is located on the first floor of the Hildreth School, 85 Savin Street. There is a gym that our students use to maintain a healthy life style. You may also see our students walking in the neighborhood on good weather days. A mini bus is available to shuttle the students to and from job sites throughout the day.

History and Philosophy:

The Post-Grad Program has been located at The Hildreth School since September 2007.

We use a positive approach to assist individuals to explore their goals for adult life. Students begin to develop an understanding of their disability as well as find accommodations that support them on the job. Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of volunteer options within their community to discover their skills, challenges, likes and dislikes.

The Post-Grad Program uses a number of resources to plan appropriate instruction including: Life Centered Career Education Curriculum, the Next Chapter Book Group, Remedia Publications, Social Stories and a variety of newspapers.
