From April 13 to April 27, MPS International Programs Coordinator Christopher Hottel trekked to Beijing, Shijiazhuang in Hebei Province, and Shanghai on an educational exchange visit representing Marlborough Public Schools. The visit was sponsored by the Cambridge Institute of International Education, which is assisting Marlborough schools in welcoming Chinese exchange students to MPS. The Marlborough Public Schools Early Childhood Center preschool registration for the 2014-2015 school year will be from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 7, at the District Education Center, 17 Washington Street. Bus Routes: Bus routes will be posted to the Bus Transportation Information webpage the week of August 19.

School Lunch Program: Applications for the district’s free and reduced lunch program are available at: Lunch Menus/Food Services. These applications – available in three languages – can be completed and submitted prior to the start of school so that qualifying students can receive this benefit when school starts. Completed applications can be e-mailed to Data Manager Linda Weintraub at lweintraub@mps-edu.org or mailed to her at 17 Washington Street, Marlborough, MA 01752.

In accordance with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, 603 CMR 23.06 (3), the Marlborough Public Schools will be destroying records of special education students who graduated, transferred, withdrew, or aged out as of June 2005. Students who wish to receive their personal student files should visit the Special Education Office between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday no later than August 2, 2013. A state-issued form of identification will be required to retrieve records. The Special Education Office is located at the Whitcomb Middle School, 25 Union Street, Marlborough, in the back entrance of the building. For questions, call the office at (508) 460-3502, ext. 2.

Kindergarten Registration: Summer kindergarten registration for 2013-14 will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays at the District Education Center, 17 Washington Street, through August 15. After August 15, please register students for kindergarten at their school of attendance.
